A small group this week, but I prefer it. Everyone has a chance to read and chat and get to know the other members. Slow going on the book, but learning quite a lot of "slang".

Sunday Stroll in The Heights was true to what the group is about. We socialized and conversed in Spanish at the drink shop and a couple of shops along W. 19th street. The juice was great- Marty and I drank our own combination of fruits and juices! As always I felt comfortable speaking in my beginner Spanish :)!

First meeting went very well. Once I found Bella and introduce my self, I was immediately greeted, introduced to and partnered with a very nice group member to start the Tango lesson that was about to pbegin. The members are very social. I listened to and spoke a bit of Spanish without feeling embarrassed or awkward. I think the event was very age appropriate, theme appropriate and language meetup appropriate. We drank wine, danced, socialized and conversed in Spanish (Spanish and English for me)! It was great! I'm looking forward to future events!
